the newly married Steve Gerlach and Aimee Zygmonski!
Yes, that's right. We finally did it. On Saturday night, when both sets of parents were in town to meet each other for the second time in our ten years of being together, we told them to "dress nice" Sunday morning because we were all headed to Sunset Cliffs to get married.Needless to say, their jaws dropped.
So we did it. We did it because both sets of parents were in town, and we didn't have to plan to much.
We did it because it's easier to claim Stella as a dependent this coming year for tax purposes.
We really did it for Stella.
And I guess, we finally decided to do it for us - you know, considering it's been 10 years and all.
Steve surprised me by giving me a ring - we had initially agreed to not do them, but I have to be a girl and say, it's really pretty. ;)
Our wonderful friends Bob and Lisa helped us hatch the plan, and were so gracious to host the most beautiful wedding brunch a couple could have, and our friend Dave officiated.
We ended our "first" married day by climbing into bed exhausted at 9pm with Miss Stella Ruth finally quieting to sleep.
Ah, married life.

Wow! Congrats! What a beautiful picture of what in my family is known as "the original three" (a phrase used by oldest siblings to make younger ones feel like afterthoughts, though Scupper would never say that to Stella). At first I switched to your new blog, saw the picture and the title, and thought, "Wait, this must be some old blog, because it's about when they were first married," then realized, wait...wow!
hooray for the germonski fam!
what a wonderful day.
love & blessings to all of you.
